Finished Art is a full-service graphic design, branding, and production agency located in Atlanta, GA. They work with numerous Fortune 500 companies and handle a high volume of projects.
However, their project management and billing system was outdated, confusing to new users, and included features and functionality that were no longer relevant to the company’s needs.
Challenge
When FA approached me to redesign their application, it was more than 10 years old, unable to keep up with the demands of their clients, and a nightmare to onboard new users.
They needed a new, modern approach that had nodes to the old system but embraced the users, understood how they worked, was flexible enough to accommodate new client processes, and had an eye for the future.
Solution
I initially sat down individually with the owner, project managers, and office manager to observe how they used the system, what tasks they needed to perform, what pain points they had, and what things they would like to see in the future. After capturing all the information, I was able to determine what features were needed for the MVP, how we could better organize the information for now and in the future, and create more intuitive flows based on the users' needs.
Throughout the design process, I was able to bounce ideas off the actual users and quickly iterate based on their feedback. This approach not only elevated the aesthetics (important for a design agency) but also optimized the experience for each of the users and their specific needs.
